Hello Artists,
To celebrate the arrival of spring we will be starting our spring collage birds inspired by artist, Elizabeth St Hilaire. Elizabeth is an artist based out of Florida who is known for her unique paintings created with torn bits of painted paper.
Watch the interview below to learn more about Hilaire and her art.
Study a few of Elizabeth St. Hilaire's paintings below and then you can get started on your backgrounds.
Supplies:
-9x12 painting paper
-paint brush
-tools to create texture (see video)
-neon paints
Instructions:
Follow along with the video above to create a background for your collage bird. This video was made for another class and is referencing a different artist, but it is the same technique that you will be using to create your background today. So, ignore those references and remember this will be the background to our collage bird. Keep your painting in a safe place to dry and we will finish these up next week.
I can't wait to see what you create!
💜
Melissa
