Hello 3rd Graders,
This week in art we will be starting a project to go along with your study of native plants. The first thing you'll need to do is to take a walk with your grown up to find some native plants. Below is a list along with photos of some of the native plants you have been learning about with Fawn. See if you can find any of these around your home and choose one that you would like to make a print of. You will need to pick a leaf or flower to use for your print. If this is not on your property make sure you have permission to pick before doing so.
Camas
Cedar
Lupine
Oregon Grape
Oregon White Oak
Wild Rose
Supplies:
-air dry clay
-collected native plant
-rolling pin (alternative to use: beverage can, flat drinking glass or cup)
-paint brush, pencil or straw (tool to pierce clay)
-wax paper
Instructions:
Gather supplies and watch the video above for details on how we will be creating your native plant clay print. These will need to dry in a safe place until next week when we will add color.
I can't wait to see what you create!
💜
Melissa
