4/21 Art 6-8

Hello Artists, 
This week we will continue to work on our large scale poppy art inspired by artist, Georgia O'Keeffe and her painting from 1928, Oriental Poppies. We will be using chalk pastels today. I encourage you to continue to explore with different techniques using the chalks after you finish this assignment. They are a favorite medium of mine. I hope you enjoy working with chalk today.



Supplies:
-9x12 poppy art (from last week)
-chalk pastels

Instructions:
Today  you will be adding color to your poppy art from last week. Watch the video above for more details. Once you are done if you'd like to experiment more with chalk pastels I am leaving a video of different techniques you can try on your own at the bottom of this page. 

*Attention:
Please email a photo of your finished artwork to me at melissaallen@thecottonwoodschool.org in order for it to be included in the spring virtual art show. Due 4/28.

  Hello Artists,  This week we will finish our poppy art inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe. Today we are adding the wonderful details that we would see when we look close up at the flower, just like Georgia would. Take a look at the photos below of Georgia's poppy painting and a real poppy before we get started.  Poppy Instructions   (SafeShare link) Supplies: -flower shape (from last week) -black oil pastel -green construction paper -school glue -scissors -green crayon or marker Instructions: Today we will add the final touches to our poppy art. 5/26 1st and 2nd Grade

  Hello 1st and 2nd Graders, Last week we started our salmon project by painting the cardboard cutouts. Today we will add some final details to complete your artwork.  Salmon pt2 (SafeShare link) Supplies: -cardboard salmon cutout -black and white oil pastel or crayon -school glue -googly eye Instructions: Today you will be adding the last details to your spawning salmon. You can use crayons or oil pastels (from previous lessons) to work today. You should also find a large googly eye in your art kit that you will add using school glue.
