This week we will continue to explore the artist Georgia O'Keeffe. We will be starting our large scale poppy project today inspired by O'Keeffe's painting, Oriental Poppies from 1928. First let's take a visit to see the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit at The Brooklyn Museum. Not only is her art featured in the museum, but also some of her personal belongings.
Supplies:
-9x12 black construction paper
-pencil
-glitter glue
Instructions:
Today we will be creating the basic lines of our poppy. We are drawing on a large scale with close up details. Study both Georgia's poppy painting and the photograph of a poppy before getting started. Watch the video and draw along with me or on your own afterwards. Once your drawing is complete you will use the glitter glue tube to outline your lines. Let this dry in a safe place. Next week we will add color with chalk pastels.
I can't wait to see what you create!
💜
Melissa
