4/14 Art 3-5

 

Hello Artists, 
This week we will continue to be inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe as we add color to our poppy art. Before we get started listen to the book, My Name is Georgia, a Portrait by Jeanette Winter.




Supplies:
-poppy drawing 
-red, yellow and brown paint
-water cup
-paint brush
-paper towel

Instructions:
Today we will be painting our poppy drawings. Watch the video and then get started. Be sure to paint your entire work of art. Keep in a safe place to dry. Next week we will add the last details to our poppy!

4/21 Art K-2

  Hello Artists,  This week we will finish our poppy art inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe. Today we are adding the wonderful details that we would see when we look close up at the flower, just like Georgia would. Take a look at the photos below of Georgia's poppy painting and a real poppy before we get started.  Poppy Instructions   (SafeShare link) Supplies: -flower shape (from last week) -black oil pastel -green construction paper -school glue -scissors -green crayon or marker Instructions: Today we will add the final touches to our poppy art. Gather your supplies and work along with me as you watch the video.  *Attention grown-ups: Please email a photo of your students finished artwork to me at melissaallen@thecottonwoodschool.org in order for it to be included in the spring virtual art show. 5/26 1st and 2nd Grade

  Hello 1st and 2nd Graders, Last week we started our salmon project by painting the cardboard cutouts. Today we will add some final details to complete your artwork.  Salmon pt2 (SafeShare link) Supplies: -cardboard salmon cutout -black and white oil pastel or crayon -school glue -googly eye Instructions: Today you will be adding the last details to your spawning salmon. You can use crayons or oil pastels (from previous lessons) to work today. You should also find a large googly eye in your art kit that you will add using school glue.
