Hello Artists,
Last week we learned about the wonderful artist, James Lavadour, a member of the Walla Walla tribe and known for creating large panel sets of landscape paintings. This week we will begin our landscape art inspired by Lavadour.
- Landscapes are works of art that feature scenes of nature. This includes mountains, lakes, gardens, rivers, and any scenic view. Landscapes can be oil paintings, watercolors, gauche, pastels, or prints of any kind.
Supplies:
-glitter glue!!
-9x12 black construction paper
-pencil
Instructions:
1. Think of a place in Oregon, outside and in nature that is a landscape you visit often and enjoy. Some examples are places you might hike or visit like Oregon Coast, Mt Hood, Columbia River Gorge.
2. With a pencil on your black sheet of paper draw a landscape design of your chosen place using simple lines. Think about what you see in this place that makes it beautiful; large mountains, many trees, the ocean or maybe sunsets.
3. After you draw your simple lines to create a landscape, carefully go over your lines using the glitter glue tube.
4. Keep your art in a safe spot to dry. We will add color next week.
I can't wait to see what you create!
💜
Melissa
