This week in art! (SafeShare video link)
Hello Artists,

Happy February! This week in art we will be starting our heart themed art projects, which are always a favorite of mine. I hope you enjoy them. If you are looking for some extra art this week I shared in the video a fun way to create marbled paper for Valentine cards, letters or to decorate with. Check out the video below for full instructions on how to make marbled paper.

Have a great week!

Marbled Paper (SafeShare video link)

*Please check with you grown up first before making marbled paper. It is a messy project that uses supplies not normally used for art. Please get permission and help first.

Supplies:

-foam shaving cream

-food coloring or paint

-tray or baking sheet

-card stock

-toothpick

-ruler, popsicle stick or spatula

Instructions:

Watch the video above for full details on paper marbling.

1. Spray a small amount of shaving cream onto a tray or baking sheet. Use a ruler or spatula to spread the shaving cream into the size of your card stock.

2. Drop a few drops of paint or food coloring onto the shaving cream and swirl around with the toothpick making some fun designs and swirls.

3. Place the card stock on the the shaving cream and press gently all over the back of the card.

4. Lift your card up and use a ruler or spatula to wipe away the shaving cream. You can wipe off any shaving cream left on the card with a paper towel.

5. Let your card dry for a few minutes and then you can add words and drawings with markers or crayons if you would like.
