1/27 Art 6-8

Hello Artists,

Last week you explored perspective art by drawing your name in 3D. This week we will take perspective one step further using the same concept to create a landscape drawing with a vanishing point.

Remember that perspective is a word that is used to describe what you see from where you are. As an artists’ tool, perspective helps us understand what we see from where we sit or stand, and how to draw the objects that we see in a way that someone else can look at our drawing and feel like they are in the same room as we are, looking at the same objects! Perspective is also used to make shapes look three-dimensional.

Supplies:

-sketchbook or white paper

-pencil and eraser

-ruler

-markers or colored pencils (optional)

Instructions:

Watch the video above and follow along to draw a perspective landscape drawing. You can add your own details and decide on the setting your road is in. Maybe you want to create a desert or city landscape. That is up to you as long as you are following the basic idea of perspective. This lesson can be done in your sketchbook and coloring is optional, but I encourage you to do so.

Please email finished work to me at melissaallen@thecottonwoodschool.org. This assignment is due on February 3rd.

I can't wait to see what you create!

💜

Melissa
