Hello Artists,

Hope you are having a wonderful week. This week we are starting some new and exciting lessons. Check out your grade specific post for more details on what you will be working on.

If you are looking for some extra art in your week try the masking tape resist art that I shared in the video. Details are below.

Supplies:

-white heavy paper

-masking tape

-paint brush

-paint, any kind of paint works well

Instructions:

1. Create an abstract design on your paper using the masking tape.

2. Paint each section using one or two colors.

3. Peel the tape off and let dry.

You can use this art as a card for someone or just to decorate your space. Have fun!

Hello Artists, Last week we started our snowman project by drawing a worm's perspective of a snowman, just a reminder this means we are drawing a snowman how a worm might see it. This week we will add color to the snowman and create a winter sky using watercolors. Supplies: -snowman drawing -crayons or oil pastels -watercolor paints -paint brush -water cup Instructions: Watch the video above and work along with me to add color, snow and a winter sky to your snowman drawing. Hello Artists, This week we will finish our poppy art inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe. Today we are adding the wonderful details that we would see when we look close up at the flower, just like Georgia would. Take a look at the photos below of Georgia's poppy painting and a real poppy before we get started. Poppy Instructions (SafeShare link) Supplies: -flower shape (from last week) -black oil pastel -green construction paper -school glue -scissors -green crayon or marker Instructions: Today we will add the final touches to our poppy art. Hello 1st and 2nd Graders, Last week we started our salmon project by painting the cardboard cutouts. Today we will add some final details to complete your artwork. Salmon pt2 (SafeShare link) Supplies: -cardboard salmon cutout -black and white oil pastel or crayon -school glue -googly eye Instructions: Today you will be adding the last details to your spawning salmon. You can use crayons or oil pastels (from previous lessons) to work today. You should also find a large googly eye in your art kit that you will add using school glue.
