9/30 6-8 Art

Hello Artists,

This week we will learn about the wonderful color wheel! Color wheels show us how colors are related. They remind artists how to mix and think about colors. Watch the video below to learn more about the color wheel.

This week in art you will be making and labeling your own color wheel. Watch the video above for full instructions and use the labeled color wheel I have added at the top to reference while you create.

Supplies:

heavy painting paper (in art folder)
pencil
ruler
watercolor paints
water cup
paintbrush

Instructions:
  1. Using a bowl or other large round object, trace a circle in the center of your paper.
  2. With a ruler divide the circle into 12 equal sections.
  3. Use the color wheel above to label each section of the color wheel with the correct colors.
  4. Paint the primary and secondary colors first and then use the mixing technique in the video to create the intermediate colors. Keep your finished color wheel in your art folder to for future art projects.
This assignment is due by Wednesday October 7th. Please email completed work to me at melissaallen@thecottonwoodschool.org.

I can't wait to see what you create!

💜
Melissa
